Design of wedding dresses by using low cost fabric

Abstract

The study was a survey research. The purpose was to reduce the cost of wedding dress production by using low cost fabric. This was useful to the bride who has limited budget. The low cost wedding dresses created with knowledge in pattern design and clothing construction were really practical. The integration of pattern and garment technology could add value to the the low cost wedding dresses. Three wedding dresses were made with normal design and clothing construction. Three types of fabric used were : table cloth, lace,and mesh cloth. Three groups of assessors consisted of 1. 28 of government officers 2. 24 of government employees 3. 233 of first to fourth year students of Home Economic Technology Faculty (Pranakhontai area) from Rajamangkala University of Technology. There was a total of 285 assessors. The percentage was 100. The result revealed most of the students were 81.76%, 75.79% were female, and 81.75% were 18-25 years old. that the three wedding dresses were totally agreed. The overall average was 4.51. According to the separated groups of samples, the government officers and government employees were totally agreed to the wedding dresses. The average was 4.71, 4.56 accordingly. The students agreed to the wedding dress. The average was 4.49. Considering from the 3 types of fabric ,it was found that the wedding dress made by mesh cloth and lace were totally agreed. The average was 4.57,4.56 accordingly. The wedding dress made by tablecloth was agreed. The average was 4.40. Three groups of assessors consisted of 1. 28 of government officers. The average was 4.71. 2. 24 of government employees. The average was 4.56. 3. 233 of students. The average was 4.49.
